The Thirty-one (31) card game is a draw-and-discard game that invites players to strive for a hand totaling 31 in cards of a single suit, or to achieve a higher score than their opponents. It is also known as Schwimmen Kartenspiel.
Rules and Gameplay of Thirty-one:
- Each player begins with three cards drawn from the deck, alongside one card from the stockpile placed face up.
- On their turn, players can choose to either draw from the stockpile or take the revealed card.
- After drawing, players must discard one card to restore their hand to three cards.
- Play continues clockwise until a player declares the end of the game.
- At the start of your turn, you have the option to "knock" (the knock button will appear). Knocking with an exact score of thirty-one results in an instant win; however, if this condition is not met, the turn is forfeited, allowing other players one final chance to play.
- Once gameplay concludes, all cards are revealed, and scores are compared. Achieving 31 points ends the game immediately and secures a victory for that player.
Features of Thirty-one:
- Single-player mode for family and friends
- Multiplayer capabilities
- Customizable player nicknames
- Option to set the number of players (2-4)
- Ability to define round winner bonuses (assign points to the winner)
- Set target points for winning a game ("First to" option)
- Flexibility for multiple rounds or a single round (for single round, set "First to" to 1)
- The Thirty and a half rule (when enabled, a player receives 30.5 points for any three-of-a-kind)
